As many of you already know, I’ve been playing quite a bit of tennis lately.
As if playing 3 to 4 times a week wasn’t enough, I decided to get a tennis ball machine too.
It’s called the Silent Partner Edge Star. It can shoot up to 200 balls at up to 90 miles per hour.
The best part is that it comes with a remote so you can decide when you want to get machine-gunned by fuzzy yellow spheres and when to stop the massacre.
There is one problem, though…
The balls… ๐พ๐พ
Lots of balls… ๐พ๐พ๐พ
All over the place… ๐พ๐พ๐พ๐พ๐พ๐พ๐พ๐พ๐พ๐พ๐ฅต
Unfortunately, those cute fuzzy babies don’t pick up themselves from the court.
Someone, usually a human, has to manually pick all the balls (120 balls, in my case) and put them back in the machine.
Picking up balls gets old very quick…
Typically, players use their racket as a scoop to pick up balls.
You can fit about 12 to 15 balls per racket load.
This requires bending down about 50 times to grab the balls and 10 trips to the ball machine.
Well, it’s a pain (in the back!)
So…
I invented SCOOPY!
Scoopy is a tennis ball-picking device that works kind of like a broom with wheels.
It’s basically a plastic box with 3 wheels and a broomstick.
And it works like a charm!
Here is a 15 sec demo video of Scoopy in action โ WATCH VIDEOโ
Yes, there are other ball-picking products (I bought one from Walmart.)
But after testing the competition, it turns out my contraption works better.
โก You can store up to 70 balls per “scoop” ๐ช
โก It’s easy to carry ๐ชถ
โก Requires no maintenance ๐ง
And the best part…
I had a blast building it! ๐ฅณ
Should I sell it? ๐ค
Getting into manufacturing is a pain (I know from experience…)
And how much should I charge for it?
Or, maybe I just sell the building instructions?
That requires much less effort. Just sell a PDF with the instructions.
In fact, I’ve already set up a pre-sell landing page to test the idea.
You can pre-buy the instructions here โ https://grumo.com/scoopyโ
If I get enough pre-sales, I’ll create the instructions.
If not, I’ll refund all the buyers…
Either way… beware tennis balls… here I come!!!
Peace. Love. SC๐พ๐พPIES!

P.S. What do you think of my invention? Do you play tennis or pickleball? How do you pick up balls now? BTW, Scoopy can also pick up soda cans! ๐คฃ

Hi Miguel, I too have a tennis idea. Itโs a special tennis wall cover or mat that allows a player to hit hard and rebound with less force. It also is safe for indoor use as it protects rebounds going way off center. Maybe we can get together and make it a reality. Thx!
