Picking a career is one of the most important decisions in life. There are so many factors to take into account and still, today, millions of young adults end up choosing a major for the wrong reasons (parental pressure, perceived status, income potential…)
The result: boatloads of unhappy people working on jobs they hate.
Luckily for the world, Tim Urban from WaitButWhy posted an awesome mega-post describing an in-depth framework to help people choose the right career path.
Like all Tim’s posts, it’s a fun, long, doodle-ridden read and I highly recommend you read it if you’re feeling unsure about what career to choose.
My fear is that a zillion people are going to read Tim’s article and never take the time to implement it.
As Tim knows, humans are the best procrastinators in the world and, without a clear deadline and some motivation, we suck at following through.
Well, I want to change that! so I went ahead and converted Tim’s article into a free 7-day implementation program → Check It Out Here.
The program will guide you step-by-step through Tim’s framework so by the end of 7 days, you should have much more clarity as to what career to pursue. Hopefully, a career or major that you actually find fulfilling versus the career your parents or society told you it’s best for you.
I hope Tim’s framework and the implementation class can be of help to anyone stuck on picking a career path.
Onwards!
P.S: Another great resource mentioned on Tim’s post is a site called 80,000 hours which focuses also in helping young, high-potential people make the right career choices.
