Hola my dear Grumers!
This year I’ve been focusing on improving my (highly neglected) social life.
That has translated to attending dozens of social events.
For the most part, we’ve been using a combination of Meetup.com and WhatsApp groups to organize them.
After while, a core group of friends has formed, and we’ve realized we needed less and less to make all our events public.
However, the problem of organizing events remains (RSVPs, reminders, collecting fees, etc.).
So yesterday, I sat down for a few hours, and I cranked out a Meetup clone.
I can’t begin to explain how difficult this would have been if I had tried to program the functionality of a multi-million dollar platform from scratch using native code (the traditional approach).
But thanks to Glide – my favorite no-code app building platform – I was able to replicate most of Meetup.com’s features in a single day!
The new app is called MeetApp 🙂
Here are a few of the things you can do with MeetApp:
- Create free and paid events
- Manage attendees; move them to Going/Not-Going
- Promote users to Co-Organizers or Hosts
- Set attendance limits
- Enable waiting lists
- Email all attendees
- Enable discount coupons
- Duplicate or cancel events
- Track everything (users, events, sales) from an Admin dashboard
I explain in more detail how everything works in this video:
MeetApp is the perfect tool to organize free or paid events with your friends, family, or for your company.
