What is CourseApp?

CourseApp is a fully customizable mobile app to host and sell online courses.

CourseApp is a bit like Lego. The app comes preassembled with all the blocks you need to run your own custom online school.

Like Lego, you can add, remove, and change those blocks to build infinite variations of your app.

And the great thing is that you don’t have to be a programming ninja to customize the way it works.

It takes literally seconds to make changes to your app!

CourseApp is built with Glide, a fabulous no-code mobile app building platform.

How does CourseApp work?

Can I try CourseApp before buying it?

Does CourseApp work on desktop?

Yes! Yes! This is the #1 question I got by far. The answer is Yes.

CourseApp works like any other regular website, except it can also be installed as a mobile app – How coolio is that!

Does CourseApp work on tablets?

Yes. CourseApp works on both Android and Apple tablets too.

Who is CourseApp ideal for?

CourseApp is ideal for online course creators that want a fully customizable, mobile-friendly, and affordable alternative to host and sell online courses.

What skills do you I need to customize CourseApp?

To customize CourseApp, you only need to have basic technical skills.

Skill 1: CourseApp data is stored in a Google spreadsheet; this means you need to know how to use a spreadsheet (tables, rows, columns, etc.)

Skill 2: CourseApp is built with Glide, a no-code mobile app building platform. Luckily, Glide is quite straightforward (and quite fun!)

What kind of files can I upload to CourseApp?

You can upload any kind of file (PDF, images, MP3, ZIP, MP4, etc.).

For your video lessons, I would recommend storing them on YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, or Wistia and then pasting the links to your videos inside your lessons.

For larger files, it would be better to upload them to Google Drive or Dropbox and then paste the links to your files inside your app.

Can CourseApp replace my existing course hosting platform?

Yes, of course! – CourseApp comes with all the basic features to help you host courses and start making sales right away.

Not only that, because you can fully customize it, you can build any additional features that you would have to pay extra to get on other platforms.

How big can CourseApp scale?

I like your thinking. So you’re planning to have millions of students and take over the world!

There is no limit to how many students you could have; you simply would upgrade your Glide account to handle more students.

Can I use CourseApp to deliver live classes?

CourseApp is not optimized to deliver live classes from within the app itself, but you could sell access to live Zoom, Facebook, or YouTube classes.

Then, after students buy your live class, you could set an automation (with Zapier or Integromat) to email them a link to attend your live class.

Can I publish my CourseApp to the Google’s Play Store or App Store?

Not at this moment. CourseApp (as all Glide apps) works directly without having to go through the arduous and expensive process required to get listed on Google’s or Apple’s stores.

How does CourseApp handle payments?

CourseApp uses Stripe to handle payments, which means you can accept all major credit cards.

Can CourseApp handle PayPal or other payment alternatives?

Currently, CourseApp works with Stripe only. However, you could also create your own custom buy buttons pointing to any other payment solutions.

Will CourseApp help me market my courses?

CourseApp is a course self-hosting app, not a marketplace like Udemy or SkillShare.

This means instructors are responsible for their own marketing (similar to all other self-hosting options)

Does CourseApp integrate with ConvertKit, MailChimp, Active Campaign, etc.?

Yes. CourseApp can integrate with thousands of other apps via Zapier or webhooks.

How much does Glide cost?

Glide is free to use up to 500 rows of data. The next plan is $12/month, which will give you 5,000 rows of data (see pricing here).

With the free plan, you should be good to get started with a couple of courses and a couple hundred students.

In my estimate, you should be making well over 6 figures a year before you run out of rows on the $12/mo paid plan (this is if you’re not giving out your courses for free!)

Can you import emails to your email list from the app?

Yes. All your data is stored on a Google spreadsheet, which means you could export all your users’ emails to your email list.

You could automate that process using Zapier, so every time someone buys your course, they are automatically added to your email list.

Can I hire you to customize my app?

I wasn’t planning to offer customization services, but I may be able to help if it’s something simple.
