How To Sell Online Courses on Youtube

Many online instructors (including me) use Youtube to sell online courses.

The way this sales funnel works is like this:

1. Record several great tutorials on your course topic
2. Upload them to Youtube
3. Wait until Youtube starts sending you traffic
4. Funnel viewers from your Youtube videos to your email list
5. Promote your courses to your email list

Now, let’s say you want to generate $1,000 a month selling online courses using Youtube as the top of your funnel.​

How many views will you need to meet your monthly revenue target?

Well, if you have an average converting funnel in place, you’ll need about 56,000 views a month.

How do I know?

Because I’ve created a very detailed Youtube funnel calculator that says so.

The calculator allows you to estimate the number of views you’ll need to generate for any given revenue target.

Why is this important to understand?

The calculator will give you a realistic understanding of what level of effort it takes to bring sales to your online courses.

Then, it’s up to you to decide how much effort you want to put to meet your revenue targets. 

For instance, with the calculator, you’ll learn that to “generate $1000 a month selling a $100 online course, you would need to produce at least 1 video that can generate 56,000 views a month(or 12 videos generating 4,700 views each per month)”.

There is a cumulative effect since the more videos you produce, the less views each video needs to generate to hit your monthly views target. But this also means you’ll spend more time creating videos, and if you count the labor involved in video production as a cost, then your profitability will go down.

The calculator will help you estimate profitability based on the cost of your labor too.
