Are you looking for an affordable alternative to host and sell courses?
Not everyone can afford to spend hundreds of dollars a month on tools to host courses.
This is why I’m happy to announce a new course hosting tool that won’t break the bank, is easy-to-use, fully customizable, and that offers just the right features to get you up and running selling online courses.
I’ll tell you how you can get this app in a bit, but first, let’s do a quick recap of the pros and cons of the current course hosting solutions available.
Typically, when it comes to self-hosting courses, you have three options:
- Hosting Platform: Use a platform like Thinkific, Teachable, or Kajabi
- Your Website: Use WordPress + a plugin like Learndash
- Custom Solution: Hire a developer to build a custom course hosting solution
OPTION 1: Hosting Platform (Thinkific, Teachable, Kajabi)
If spending $100/mo is not an issue for you, any of these platforms are usually the best choice for most course creators.
Yes, they all offer cheaper entry plans, but the moment you want to get serious about growing your online school and need extra features, you’ll have to upgrade to a premium plan.
OPTION 2: Your Website: Use WordPress + a plugin like Learndash
In theory, using WordPress + a course management plugin like Learndash could save you a bit of money.
However, running your own online school this way requires much higher technical ability to maintain. Over the long run, it usually ends up being more expensive (as I explain in this video).
OPTION 3: Custom Solution (Hire a developer)
Building a custom course hosting solution is ideal for people or companies with high budgets (>$10K/mo).
Here the sky is the limit in terms of features and functionality, but the cost to have this done is well beyond the budget for most course creators starting out.
And here is where I’d like to introduce…
(NEW!) OPTION 4: CourseApp
What’s unique about CourseApp?
CourseApp brings the best of all worlds in terms of price, functionality, and customization.
Comparing CourseApp to the existing options, it’s like:
- Having the customization capabilities of Option 4 (Custom Solution)
- Without the headaches of Option 2 (WordPress + Plugin),
- All for a fraction of the cost of Option 1 (Thinkific/Teachable).
So, how does CourseApp work?
Think of a Lego set. As a child (well… and as a not so child), I loved to play with Lego.
For years, all I wanted for my birthday was a new Lego set.
Luckily my Mom would happily comply with my wishes, and I ended up with dozens of Lego sets.
I think Lego has to be one of the best inventions of all time.
Usually, Lego sets come with instructions to build one or two contraptions. But in reality, because of how Lego bricks fit together, you can actually build thousands of other contraptions!
So CourseApp is a bit like Lego. The app comes preassembled with all the blocks you need to run your own custom online school.
But like with Lego, you can add, remove, and change those blocks to build infinite variations of your app.
And the great thing is that you don’t have to be a programming ninja to customize things. It takes literally seconds to make changes to your app!
How is this possible?
Simple, there is a new way to build apps that borrows many of the principles of Lego.
Instead of spending hundreds of hours programming to get a feature published, some clever people have created blocks (or bricks) with the same functionality.
If you’ve paid attention to my recent emails, you’ll know what I am talking about.
These Lego-like programming tools are called No-Code tools, and in particular, the one I’ve fallen in love with (like a kid getting a new Lego set) is called Glide.
CourseApp is built with Glide, a fabulous no-code app building tool.
Glide is the same tool I’ve used to build an interactive portfolio app for my Mom, an app to learn grammar, and my current habit tracker app.
This means that you’ll be able to fully customize your course app, change its look completely, and add or remove features to suit your specific needs.
All without having to code anything or having to hire an expensive programmer, basically saving you thousands of dollars on development costs.
What skills do you need to get started?
Just basic click-drag-and-drop skills. If you know how to drag and drop stuff on a screen and use a spreadsheet, you’re good to go.
So if you were looking for an affordable option to host and sell courses, this is for you!
Where can I get CourseApp?
For a limited time, my subscribers can get a copy of CourseApp for only $25 (50% discount) by going to → https://grumo.com/courseapp
(Limited offer available until this Friday 11:59 pm PST)
How do I install the app?
The app works both on Android and Apple phones, takes only a few seconds to install, and you’ll be able to start uploading and selling your courses immediately.
Watch this tutorial to learn how the app works, how to install it, and how to customize it → [ Watch App Tutorial ]
Do I have to pay for Glide too?
CourseApp is a single payment, and you’ll have unlimited access to the app forever.
Glide is free to use up to 500 rows of data. The next plan is $12/month, which will give you 5,000 rows of data.
With the free plan, you should be good to get started with a couple of courses and a couple hundred students.
In my estimate, you should be making well over 6 figures a year before you run out of rows on the $12/mo paid plan (this is if you’re not giving out your courses for free!)
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
